Zanzibar is set to construct a luxurious seven-star hotel on the Pemba Island. The seven-star hotel, Montuli, will be the first one of its kind in the East African region.
The plan was unveiled by Executive Director of Zanzibar Investment Authority (ZIPA), Mr. Sharif.
“We have many exciting developments on the horizon but one stands out in particular: the arrival of East Africa’s first ever seven-star hotel on Pemba Island.
“Let’s commend President Hussein Mwinyi for his visionary leadership in making this a reality,” said Sharif.
Sharif also revealed plans for a 2,500 capacity convention center in the Fumba Free Economic Zone, along with sports stadiums.

“Protecting our environment not only safeguards our future but also ensures returning tourists. They wouldn’t come back to find paradise lost,” said Jafo.
The developer behind establishment of the seven-star hotel, Montuli, noted that more than 11000 people are employed in the hotels industry in North Unguja, with approximately 255 hotels.
“The attractive policies and enabling environment on the island attracted us to invest $8 million in this project which will create 200 jobs upon completion,” said Hussein Musamir, the investor behind the Montuli seven-star hotel.
