Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan wedded her husband Shakib Cham in a lavish ceremony that was held on October 3, 2023, in Pretoria, South Africa.
Last week social media was buzzing with rumours of impending nuptials and the speculations gained credibility with the circulation of an official wedding invitation, confirming the date as the 3rd of October 2023.
On the actual day of the wedding, Zari and Shakib’s devoted followers and fans eagerly scoured their social media profiles in hopes of catching a glimpse of the event. However, their quest proved fruitless as no information was initially available.
Yet, as evening descended, the joyous occasion began to unfold on social media, much to the delight of their newlywed admirers.
The wedding ceremony boasted a star-studded guest list, featuring prominent African celebrities, including Zari’s close confidante and millionaire, Zodwa Mkandla, as well as several cast members from the popular reality TV show “Young, Famous & African.”
Zari radiated elegance in her chic ivory gown that accentuated her figure, complemented by a long white train and veil. In contrast, Shakib donned khaki trousers, a white shirt, and a brown coat, exuding understated sophistication.
The couple’s five children graced the occasion, with her three elder sons wearing all-white ensembles like the other attendees.

Before this grand wedding, Zari and Shakib had exchanged vows in a discreet Nikkah ceremony held in South Africa in April.
Zari revealed that as her bride price, she had requested a Quran from Shakib, as she aimed to deepen her faith.
“I’m blessed enough… so for me, I only asked my husband for a Quran because I’m trying to strengthen my faith game. I’m a Muslim too, sometimes,” she expressed, to her husband’s surprise.
He fulfilled her request, and it now holds a special place in their union.
