Tanzanian sensation Zuchu, renowned for her hit track “Sukari,” recently endured a harrowing ordeal during a performance that turned her week into a dramatic rollercoaster.
The songstress was headlining at the Wasafi Festival pre-party in Mbeya Town, in anticipation of the main concert scheduled for Saturday, September 30, 2023.
While Zuchu was passionately belting out her melodies on stage, she abruptly halted her performance to engage with the audience.
In the blink of an eye, a stone hurled from the crowd struck her squarely in the face, disrupting her electrifying performance.
Zuchu was in the midst of performing her chart-topping hit, “Kwikwi,” alongside her accompanying dancers.
However, the shocking incident compelled her to cut short her act.
Swiftly, her security detail intervened, ensuring her safe exit from the stage before the situation could escalate further.
On social media, fans fervently reacted to this audacious act of aggression, with many condemning the assailant’s actions.
“Why would someone do that? These delusional fans who attend concerts to assault artists should be held accountable properly.”
“This is beyond uncouth! Paying for a ticket only to throw stones? What kind of sorcery is this?”

“Why are people like this? It’s absolutely wrong, and I hope she’s alright.”
“This is sheer barbarity. If you don’t like an artist, simply abstain from attending their concerts.”
Just days prior, Zuchu had candidly informed her fans that she was currently unattached, following a gesture by Tanasha Donna, Diamond Platnumz’s baby mama, who surprised Mama Dangote with gifts like flowers, cash, and perfume.
A fan had tagged Zuchu in a post, inquiring if she had observed Tanasha Donna’s return to the artist’s life.
In response, the “Sukari” sensation affirmed her single status and declared that Diamond Platnumz was free to pursue his own choices, as they were not romantically involved.

In a surprising move, Zuchu subsequently deleted a video she had posted just two days prior, expressing her admiration for the Wasafi Records boss while he performed her song “Honey.”
Zuchu is the only female artist taking part in the ongoing Wasafi Festival.
So far, she has performed in Sumbawanga, Mtwara and the ill-fated Mbeya edition among others.
